Historic Showboat Park

A Diamond in the Country. Very large park with 2 miles of paved hiking trail along the Shiawassee River. 2 large dog parks. Lots of shaded sites, or open sights. In town so lots of dining options in walking distance. One of the nicest fresbee golf courses in Michigan. Basketball court. Several baseball diamonds. Great playground for kids. BMX jumps. Pavilions for picknics and cookouts. Good cell phone coverage. Lots of space for dogs. Absolutely beautiful gardens and trees. Usually never overcrowded. Online reservation through "Chesaning Showboat Campground". I used the rest rooms/showers facility on Sept 7, 2025. On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being the highest quality I can only rate the men's facility (rest rooms & showers) as a 6. All of it needs updating including plumbing, toilets, urinals, showers, floors and walls. It's not as clean as it should be for good impressions, yet it suffices. My shower water was warm enough w/o cold water on.You'll want to use your own shower.
