We enjoyed our stay for the most part. Most people want to be close to the lake, which is fine by us. I concur with the previous review in that the campground is popular and that may be its downfall. The bathrooms were not cleaned just the air fresheners replaced, there were beer cans and energy drink cans scattered around especially by the beach area. We had visitors all hrs of the night and a state trooper and county sheriff visits that were not patrols. They were at fairly high speed and looking for someone. It's a beautiful campground like I said but it really needs a host to keep things in order. Heck we even observed a family washing their hair in the lake and the suds and a slick from it stayed for awhile. There were about 6 people. It's unfortunate because it is nice..... BUT

Nice Area, Popular Campground
This campground is right on the lake, and has a boat ramp for access to it. There is a trail around the lake. Sites are medium sized, although many lack the privacy most National Forest campgrounds have. Admittedly, we stayed here 4th of July weekend, so the crowds were probably worse than usual. Nonetheless, the forest
and lake were beautiful. Sites are close to level and some could accommodate larger rigs. This would probably be a great place to get away, if on a less crowded weekend!
